The trainer will learn how to gain access to curricula and necessary resources for both trainings. Objectives: 1. Identify regulations governing staff training in Virginia Assisted Living facilities licensed by the Depart of Social Services (DSS). 2. Identify appropriate curricula for DSS required Direct Care Staff and DMAS required Personal Care Aides. 3. Identify characteristics of the adult learner 4. Discuss principles of teaching the adult learner. 5. List the five steps of the Education Process. 6. Identify effective strategies for creative presentations 7. Develop a lesson plan for staff training. Intended Audience: RN or LPN, Licensed in the state of Virginia or Compact Licensure Times: 9 am to 3 pm Price: $190.00 Trainers: Charlotte Brown, RN Temika N. Younger, RN MSN
    • Refresher Program for Nurse Aide Trainers
    • ISP TrainingsDeveloping the Individualized Service Plan (ISP). This program, designed for persons who develop or supervise the development of the ISP required for residents of Assisted Living Facilities licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services. Objectives: 1) Identify licensing requirements for the Individualized Service Plan. 2) Identify 5 assessment tools. 3) Identify the components of a well-written ISP. 4) Write ISP goals and objectives. 5) Develop a goal-oriented ISP. – Approved by the Virginia Department of Social Services. – Approved by NAB/NCERS for 4 clock hours.
